in line with club goals, regional, national, and international competition
campaigns. |

Islands – paddles for annual Vaka Iti College program |
The Cook Islands Canoeing
Association (CICA) runs an annual Oe Vaka College programme “Vaka Iti” for Year 9 – Year 12 students. 250 to 300 students
participate in the program with CICA providing all equipment (canoes and
paddles). The IVF grant programme will
provide replacement equipment for the Vaka Iti programme |

Great Britain Junior Development
Programme |
Great Britain Outrigger will use
this grant to spearhead a National Junior Development initiative, using an
established club to pilot a local model of development. This
first-of-its-kind project sees a certified junior coach appointed within a
club and supported by a team from Great Britain Outrigger to deliver a
12-week junior programme. |

The project is to run an 8-week
introductory program for 3 groups of paddlers - women, men & youth. Each
participant in the project will be formally trained in CPR, First Aid, Basic
Water Rescues as well as the skills of outrigger paddling. |

development project objective is to raise community awareness in Samoa for Alo Va’a in

communities as well as the business sector. |
