The 2022 International Va'a Federation Va'a World Sprint Championships is comprised of two events in one
IVF VA'A WORLD ELITE CHAMPIONSHIP 
​

In the IVF Va'a World Elite Championship event, teams represent their member country in recognized divisions:
  •  Junior Development (J19) Men
  • Junior Development (J19) Women
  • Elite (Open) Men
  • Elite (Open) Women
  • Para Va'a Mixed
  • V1 (single person) Events across all age divisions
These divisions race across several distances in V6 and V12 canoes The Elite Quota (V6, V12, V1) can be found here
The Elite racing opens the event with the first two days of racing scheduled for the Elite Events - click here to view the event schedule

V1 racing takes place throughout the Elite and Club Events racing schedule. During the World Elite Championship, uniforms worn should be the national uniform of the Country/Region.

IVF VA'A WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

In the IVF Va'a World Club Championship event, teams represent their clubs from within their country in recognized divisions:

The number of entries allowed by each member in the World Club Championship event are as follows:         
  •  V6 events:  6 entries per event category J16 to Master 80 (men and women)
  • ​V12 events: 3 entries per event category J16 to Master 80 (men and women)

These divisions race across several distances in V6 and V12 canoes The Club Quota (V6, V12, V1) can be found here

The Club racing starts after the two days of Elite Events -

​​Each IVF Member Federation must confirm that the club teams entered are in fact made up of members of those recognized clubs within their country. Club teams are defined at the discretion of the IVF member country.

At the World Club Championship, uniform may be representative of the IVF member region or club.

  • Elite paddlers may participate in both Elite and Club racing.  
  • Any Club team V6 may contain no more than 3 paddlers who participated in the World Elite Championship teams.
  • Any Club team V12 may contain no more than 6 paddlers who participated in the World Elite Championship teams.
